Sir,

With reference to my letter No.47/G of the

8th ultimo, concerning the proposed extension of

Murray Pier and the reinstatement of the Victoria

Yacht Club, I have the honour to transmit for your

consideration the enclosed copy of a Minute of the

Honourable Acting Director of Public Works together

with a copy of the Minutes of a Meeting, held on the

29th ultimo, by the Committee, which I had appoint ed

to consider the question of the reinstatement of the

Victoria Recreation Club on the site to be provided

by extending Murray Pier and the amalgamation of the

Aquatic Clubs.

2. You will observe that a sum of $15,000 has

been recommended as a fair and reasonable estimate

of the cost of reinstating the Yacht Club, and that

Mr Ordish is prepared to endorse this recommendation.

I have, therefore, the honour to enquire whether you

concur in this estimate of the cost and to request

that, in the event of your accepting this proposal,

you will be good enough to forward the estimate of $15,000 to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty

for consideration.

Gommodore

F. Powell, R.N.,

C.B.,

I have,

etc.,

(Signed)

H.A.BLAKE.

Governor, etc.
